Bob Clarkson is a full-time faculty member in the project management and sports management disciplines. Previously, he served Davenport as the head coach for men\'s lacrosse, vice president of enrollment management, group vice president for corporate relations, and vice president for corporate services. Under Clarkson’s leadership, the Men’s Lacrosse team won the 2011 MCLA National Championship.
Bob came to the University with a sales and project management background. He served as the sales manager and systems/logistics manager for Distribution Planning Inc., where he managed a logistics department responsible for $60 million of materials and services. As project manager for Mannesmann Dematic, Clarkson managed four projects in five states with a total value of more than $20 million. He managed all facets of material handling projects including engineering, design, installation, software development, and customer relations.
As a captain in the United States Air Force, Clarkson served as a program manager for Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles at Hill Air Force Base in Utah. He directed a team of eight cost and schedule analysts covering all aspects of a $1.9 billion 12-year electronics acquisition program. In this role, Bob monitored the performance of six companies and developed government cost estimates. Clarkson is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute (PMI). Currently, he is pursuing a doctorate in education from the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Alabama.
