Bruce Collins has served Davenport University in many capacities. He has been the technology division chair, full time faculty, interim dean of academics, and most recently technology department coordinator for online. His background in business includes VP of Operations, retail store owner, warehouse/production supervisor, and training production technician. He also taught 4th through 8th grades at a private boarding school. Bruce was the Military Occupational Specialty testing coordinator while serving in the US Army, in South Korea, from 1969 to 1970. Bruce is a certified peer reviewer for Quality Matters, the national standard of online and blended course design. He is also a Certified Wimba Product Specialist. Bruce holds certifications in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Bruce developed a series of Summer Computer Camps for seniors and kids at the Davenport Holland Campus, which were highlighted on the WoodTV Education First Series. Bruce’s strategy of being the ‘lead learner’ in his online classes promotes open communication in an accelerated learning environment.
