Mr. Wiljanen has over 30 years of experience in various areas of management and strategic planning. Dan worked for Steelcase, Inc. for 25 years. Prior to creating Steelcase University and becoming its first dean, he served as vice president of Human Resources. Before joining Steelcase Dan worked for Sundstrand Corporation.
Dan’s work experience includes all facets of human resources with special emphasis in training and development, team building, strategic planning, talent assessment, change management and succession planning. He has led organizational development projects, conducted leadership assessment and development programs, and facilitated team building and strategic planning sessions. While at Steelcase, he instituted a number of award-winning human resource programs and processes.
Dan’s other related experiences include serving as an adjunct faculty member for the Master of Management Program at St. Thomas Aquinas College and as a visiting professor at Grand Valley State University. He has also delivered a number of presentations at various conferences covering the following topics: Leadership, Change Management, and Building an Effective Human Resources Function.
