Prior to joining Davenport University, Ms. Garman, BSN, spent 16 years at Spectrum Health--first as a staff nurse on a Med/Surg unit, then as a clinical nurse educator in Med/Surg. From there she spent several years doing education on a system-wide level for Spectrum Health Hospitals in Grand Rapids. For her last five years at Spectrum Health, she was part of the Nursing Informatics team which was responsible for educating staff on the clinical computer system. This team also assisted with the design and implementation of the system for nursing and other clinical staff. Ms. Garman started at Davenport in 2002 as adjunct faculty and now serves fulltime in academic leadership in the health field.
