Dr. Karen Daley is the Dean of the College of Health Professions at Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She attended Villanova University, where she received her Bachelor in Nursing degree. She received her Master’s in Nursing from Troy State University, followed by her PhD in Nursing from Rutgers University. In her role as Dean she has overseen the construction of 4 state-of-the art simulation labs and integration of simulation throughout the Nursing Department and all health majors. Currently, she is working in implementation of an inter-professional education initiative throughout the College to bring together all health departments (Nursing, Allied Health and Health Information Management and Occupational Therapy) through the use of simulation. She has overseen the development of 4 graduate programs since 2011, including Davenport University’s first doctorate program; the Doctor of Physical Therapy which is scheduled to begin in January, 2017. She leads a talented group of faculty in the College that works hard every day to help students achieve their healthcare profession dreams.
Dr. Daley is a licensed RN in the state of Michigan. She is a member of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration, the National League for Nurses, Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society for Nursing, and Alpha Sigma Lambda honor society. Dr. Daley is also a co-editor for the award winning book; Making it Real: Simulation Scenarios for Nursing Educators, which is currently in production of a third edition.
