Since beginning her nursing career in 1983, Susan has had a variety of work experiences in the acute care setting. She has worked with surgical patients, in labor and delivery, and with infant feeding difficulties. Throughout her twenty-nine year career, she has been instrumental in staff development, patient and family education, and community educational programs.
Susan started as an adjunct nursing faculty member with Davenport University and accepted a full time faculty position in the fall of 2012. She recognizes our nation is facing unprecedented health care challenges and believes nurse educators are in a unique position to have a positive influences in those areas by equipping nursing students to meet these challenges in unique and creative ways. Her professional goal is to impact a healthier tomorrow by creating curriculum for nursing students which will educate them on how to improve society’s health today.
