Why an AAS in Computer Information Systems?
Learn to work with corporate management and subject matter experts to analyze information needs and determine ways in which computer systems can be used to meet those needs. An added dimension is the focus on business and communications skills that will enable graduates to understand and communicate in the business environment in order to apply effective solutions. If you have a passion for learning and adapting to new technology advancements, this may be the degree for you. The AAS program in Computer Information Systems offers students a wide introductory knowledge base that includes microcomputer applications, database, and operating systems in the business environment, as well as more in depth knowledge of an object oriented programming language.
Our hands-on instruction and well-equipped labs provide instruction that is aligned with networking standards and vendor certifications such as Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and Sun Java Certified Associate (SJCA). Davenport also offers course credit for specific certifications. In addition, certification exams are highly recommended after completing certificate related courses.
