Course of Study

Though the experience abroad is three weeks long, the coursework is completed in a 12-week format. Enrollment in the 2014 Spring/Summer Semester is required.

May 31, Fly to Milan, Italy

 

June 1- 5, Milan

  • Guided tour of Milan
  • Visit Ducatti and Barilla
  • Nearby Bologna and da Vinci's Last Supper
  • Taroni Silk Company

June 6 -- 8, Zurich, Switzerland 
  • ABB Ltd. Leader in power & automation
  • Zurich Insurance (parent of Farmer's)
  • The Great Church -- birthplace of Protestantism

 

June 9 - 12, Strasbourg, France

  • Explore the "Capital of Europe" 
  • Visit Steelcase International  

 

June 13- 15, Heidelberg, Germany 

  • Wild Werke (Capri-Sun) Plant
  • Daimler Production Plant  

June 16 - 20, Amsterdam, the Netherlands

  • Guided tour of city and flower auction
  • Port of Amsterdam logistics
  • Rijksmuseum and Anne Frank House

Meet Your Professors

Dr. Marjolijn van der Velde is the Department Chair of Management for the College of Business.  

Jim Gort is the Associate Department Chair of Management for the College of Business.

Dr. Mitch Place is an Adjunct Professor in World Languages for the College of Arts and Sciences.  

Estimated program cost: $5,499** ** Pricing may change due to foreign currency
fluctuations and other circumstances.

Program cost includes:

  • Round-trip airfare to and from Europe
  • Modest, safe and clean hotel lodging
  • Breakfast each day, several corporate (lunches & some planned dinners)
  • All ground transportation for planned schedule
  • Bi-lingual tour guides—most locations
  • Admission fees for all scheduled sites listed on the program itinerary

Additional expenses:

  • Passports ($135) and text fees vary by individuals and courses taken
  • Personal expenses - $700 est. for 20 days
  • Standard tuition per course
